We are facing an epidemic of pornography on the net of which the repercussions remain not fully understood. And it is frightening. With the click of a mouse, anyone, at any age, anytime can view porn online.

Governments are still tied up by the “it’s a free-speech issue” argument. The porn industry has managed to hold onto the idea that porn is victimless entertainment that involves only an individual and the consenting adults who participate. Regulations has yet to meet up with reality and with technology. In a world where anyone can produce and upload porn videos or images, the web is becoming filled to the brim with hardcore pornography and disturbing content that no-one should be exposed to, aside from our children!

Porn is teaching negative behaviors and attitudes towards sexuality. And while for adults this can be a big problem, for children that are seeing it, it is just a disaster that may impact their ability to have any kind of healthy sexual relationship if they grow up.

There is no quantity of education or warning that can prevent children from viewing pornography online today. The average child will see porn by age eleven online. Children are curious, children share links by email, by chat, on smart phones… The only real solution today is to install a porn filter on each computer your child has access to. In the home, friends, grandparents, school, the library, make sure a porn filter is installed on the computer. Demand it. It will not go away if you ignore it.
