Tune of the Week: Super Mario Bros.

The face of Nintendo is now the face of this week’s Tune of the Week!

There is arguably no other video game character more famous than Mario. Since his debut in 1983, the Mario franchise has sold more than 210 million units, making Nintendo’s Italian mascot the best selling video game franchise of all time.

Mario has also appeared on more than 200 video games; he has made cameo appearances in Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes, Zelda: Ocarina of Time and more. He has transcended from just being a video game character to becoming a pop culture icon.

When choosing a Tune of the Week, I was overwhelmed with all the great tunes the Mario franchise as a whole has. Therefore multiple songs from different Mario games have been selected. Never before has this been done in Tune of the Week.
