TOTW: Bioshock

Big Daddy has drilled his way to Tune of the Week!

Bioshock takes place during the 1960′s in an underwater repressive and controlled city known as Rapture.

The protagonist is Jack, a lone survivor of a plain crash that landed somewhere in the Atlantic Ocean. Luckily for Jack, there is a lighthouse near where the plane crashed and a batahyscaphe ready to take passengers straight to Rapture.

This is where the shocking element of Bioshock begins. From that moment on you’re left to explore and survive the bot-filled underwater city of Rapture.

The game mixes first person shooter mechanics with RPG elements to give you an experience that only Irrational Games can give.

Through out the game players will come across random phonographs that play popular songs from the 1940′s and 1950′s. There is a total of 30 licensed songs through out the game.

The original music in Bioshock was composed by Garry Schyman, who won multiple awards for his astonishing work in the game’s soundtrack in 2007. Best Original Score by the VGA’s, Soundtrack of the Year by G4TV, Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition by the Acadamy of Interactive Arts & Science. Just to name a few.
