Slant Six Games Announce Employee Layoffs
Known for developing console title Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, as well as a few PSP shooters, Slant Six Games announced this week that 25% of their work force had been laid off.
The Canadian studio’s third-person shooter, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, received a cluster of poor reviews, effectively causing the studio to boot out any unnecessary employees.
Slant Six Games announced, “Regretfully, we can confirm that there have been some temporary layoffs at our studio”.
They also added: “We must stress that these are temporary layoffs, which means we are working very hard on new business prospects so we can reinstate every single person affected. As an independent and close-knit studio it is a very difficult but necessary business measure due to the current project cycle demands.”
The remaining work force have apparently been split into two teams, one focusing on upcoming 2013 title Strata Scavenger, and the other team working on a project that is still under wraps.
What does the future hold for Slant Six Games? Techtroid will have the latest.
