Rumour: Did Nintendo ‘Hold Back’ Games at E3?

Ok, so we all love rumours (especially the almighty Action Figure himself!), so how’s this one?

If all is to be believed, then Nintendo held back two “major” Wii U games at E3 this year. The info itself comes from a European developer, a friend of the site.

The first part of this rumour we’ve already heard from other sources as well. A “huge game” was held back, a game developed by a certain Texas based developer. Who are we talking about? Retro Studios, of course. Their game was apparently “pulled” at the last moment over concerns from Nintendo that it just wasn’t ready to be shown.

The second part? Apparently that wasn’t all that was scrapped. Yes, according to our source, another “key franchise” was meant to be shown. This one is “basically complete” but apparently Nintendo held this back as to “not divide attention away from the Wii U.”

As we’ve said before, this wouldn’t be the first time such an idea has ‘sprung up’. So how would the (almighty) Action Figure rate the chances of this rumour being true?

“Likely,” he shouts.

(As always though, a rumour is a rumour at best, so take it with some more of that white stuff).

I believe so, they would announce those games at Nintendo Event, Gamescom or TGS 'trust in Jesus'

It doesn't surprise me. Nintendo land was an obscure way to end it. The thing had no real direction behind it and if you go back over it it looks like it was rushed together at the last minute. Why did Retro not get their game shown? Who knows? I'm betting the other one is either a Nintendo game we aren't aware of sports? or call of duty.
