Merlin: A Servant Of Two Masters Coming To Nintendo DS

BBC Worldwide have today announced their new television tie-in video game Merlin: A Servant Of Two Masters. This exciting, no doubt magical project will be released exclusively for the Nintendo DS handheld console later this year.

For those of you who haven’t encountered the show before, Merlin is a fantasy TV show focusing on the titular wizard taken from the legends of King Arthur. The programme’s premise centres on the young warlock’s attempts to keep his royal friend safe against dark enemies whilst keeping his own magic hidden under wraps. It has something of a cult following now, having reached its fifth season on BBC1 here in the UK, which makes it no surprise that like their Doctor Who and Top Gear franchises before it the BBC are now taking the drama into the world of video games!

A Servant Of Two Masters was in fact an episode of the fourth season of Merlin where the character found himself possessed by the menacing Morgana to do her bidding, and it is from this narrative which the game takes its inspiration. The initial information the BBC has released about the game tells us it will be a ‘hidden-object’ quest in a race against time for Arthur and the Knights Of The Round Table to save Merlin. Expect to hear more on the game, its storyline and its features in the run-up to its release.

Merlin: A Servant Of Two Masters lands on Nintendo DS on September 28th to coincide with the (speculated) premiere of the new season on BBC1 the next day.
