Update: LEGO The Lord Of The Rings Coming Autumn
Update: Date below now mysteriously unofficial, WB Games are aiming for an ‘Autumn’ release instead.
WB Games and Traveller’s Tales have today confirmed the European release date for their new video game project LEGO The Lord Of The Rings.
Focusing on the three main instalments in J.R.R Tolkien’s classic novel trilogy of fantasy and adventure, this new LEGO title will make use of the voices and likenesses of Peter Jackson’s movie incarnation of the Middle-Earth characters. From Legolas to Gandalf, from the mysterious Gollum to the dangerous Cave Trolls, just about every figure imaginable from Jackson’s blockbuster films will make an appearance in some form over the fifteen-level campaign.
The game’s publishers have today launched an official Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/LEGOLordoftheRingsUK), where they promise to keep fans posted with future updates – screenshots, trailers and the like – in the months leading up to release day.
And just when is that date, I hear you ask? It’s been confirmed today that LEGO The Lord Of The Rings will ship on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo Wii, DS, 3DS, PS Vita and PC (and everything else in existence), on October 26th here in the UK, so have your axes at the ready, or in the words of a wise wizard, ‘You Shall Not Pass!’
