EA would publish Kingdoms of Amalur 2

Despite the closure of 38 Studios, it seems that the Kingdoms of Amalur brand may not have died altogether as EA have stated their willingness to publish a sequel.

President of EA’s label, Frank Gibeau, believes that EA would partner well with the series and would be more than happy to rescue the series in the future.

Gibeau stated, “It’s unfortunate how everything worked out [for 38 Studios]…At the end of the day we saw a lot of creativity and vision in the team that Curt [Schilling] put together. We thought the game was terrific. It reviewed well.”

He went on to say, “we built a good business there, and “we’d love to see a sequel to that.”

Pre-production work had already begun on a sequel before 38 Studios fell foul to closure so it is entirely possible that the series could be rescued and maintained.
